I'm just saying, a Father, Dad, Papi, Vader, Père, Vatter, Apa, Otōsan, Ojciec, Fùqīn, or Tate is a man of action, working hard, constantly caring and being there for their children. Beyond blood the relationship a man builds with a child is live or death. A child's survival is dependent on the people in their lives.
It is a blessing to be accepted and loved by the people is our lives. Care takers deserve more than a day of praise for their devotion to raising productive people. Dads show us Ordinary Greatness, so many of us think of them as Super Heroes. Whether on the road running errands and greeting everyone in town, spending time down by the river fishing or reading a bedtime story a dad's love is felt. We can do Great things for the people we love! Father's Day is a recognized holiday because children loved their Father so much they petitioned for it. Sonora Dodd of Spokane, Washington and her five siblings were raised by a single father and started the petition in 1910. By 1913 a bill by Congress specifying that "[t]he third Sunday in June is Father’s Day" passed. In 1966 President Lyndon Johnson issued the first presidential proclamation to mark the celebration of Father’s Day, and in 1972 President Richard Nixon finally signed it into law. Parents take control of a situation when it comes to children. Let no one shape and mold your lives for you or your family, you do the damn thing. Let no one's assumptions, description, opinions of you dictate who or what you will become. You have a purpose, mission and vision planned. Stick to the plan and be ready for a bumpy ride, U-turns and flat tires, may even get stuck and gears will have to turn. Go to the shop and fix it up, work on you and enjoy the ride. Be ready for rest of the journey as children age and life changes. Write your story and use the words that will move you viscerally to do and become what makes you happy. Be worthy of a child's praise and celebration like the father of Sonora Dodd. Lastly, don't think for one minute that a stepdad is any less important than a biological dad. The man who loves and respects their mom is just as important and sometimes more than a bloodline. So biological or step, know this: you are the example of the man we subconsciously seek. Be good, be the best example for us. Help us to feel intelligent, worthy, pretty, important and indestructible. When you give us a strong foundation nothing can make it weak. If you take the time to do that you will be taking part in the creation of some pretty amazing human beings. Some of them will possibly bring your grandchildren into this world. Moms even if you and dad don't get along please help facilitate a child's relationship with a father figure, your issues are between the two of you. Please don't let your anger and frustration cup overflow onto a child. They still have to grow up and face this ugly cold competitive world. Can you help your baby out? Dad's if you have been estranged, take the high road, you don't want to be referred to as that asshat. You want the proud title of my first male love my DAD. My dad used to read the Bible to me so I thought. He had the Bible in front of him any way. I was 22 when I learned my father couldn't read or write. He sure fooled me. He used to brush my hair and tell me when a women cuts her hair she's cutting away her beauty. My mom told him to spank me once. He took me in the room spanked my hands with 2 of his big fingers told me to cry loud so mommy thought he spanked me. My dad saved my butt from mommy so many times. Dad's are you out there protecting your babies? To my male friends who have fought for custody of your babies for the right reasons and raised them with the best of your abilities on this day, I applaud you. Keep up the good work or start the work a daughters love for her dad is forever, unfortunately even when he sucks. If you don't have children help someone else with theirs. God-father is an awesome title too. So do as Ghandi said "be the change you want to see" in fatherhood my friends.
