I'm just saying, when women get together they are a powerful force of nature! Over 20 years ago, I walked into a room with hundreds of high powered, professional women that promote improving social justice, as well as, the personal and professional development of women. These women were experts and industry leaders in different fields all throughout the state: nurses, lawyers, advocates, financial advisors, professors, swim instructors, scientists, community organizers, yoga instructors and more. It was a smorgasbord of professional mentors right in front of me.
I had my golden truck necklace on and a presence when I walked into that room and sat down at a table on the outside. To my surprise, the president of the organization sat down next to me and we have built a relationship of professional support ever since. New York State Women's Inc. was first BPW and I will always remember it as that, but as the clock ticks, things change and the group re-organized to promote State and regional success. I am proud to be Vice President of Region 3 in New York. After coming back into the fold after a brief absence I was welcomed back with open arms and projects to do. That is what makes a great organization. When you build close enough relationships with people to be able to take a step back when needed and be able to return in full swing when ready. This is a group of people who will always have your back. This group of women are not just the organizers of Women's Day at the New York State Fair, which is coming up on August 30th, 2017: Hope to see you there! These women are also monthly networking meetings, fundraising to help women continue education, personal and professional development training that reach out to local youth organizations and a board of knowledge and collaboration. I look forward to building up my region with positively motivated women who want to make a difference and improve the opportunities available to women in New York State. When we collaborate for Greatness nothing can stop us! Please reach out to me to learn how to become a member.
