I'm just saying, something that has always helped me in business and my personal life is being able to ask for help. There are times when we have to know when to reach out to others and collaborate to benefit one another. It can be hard to know where to go to find the right people to help you. Inherently, people who work in the same market are seen as competition. I say, forget the fight and learn that validating one another helps both of your businesses. Instead of tearing one another down make sure to build one another up. I am an advocate of marketing companies that encourage a community of affiliates or distributors because we have the opportunity to learn and help one another. Some of the biggest communities on social media are marketing companies that offer opportunity and ways to extend profit margins by referral or selling a product or service. Some of the safest ways to start in the referral market is to join local chamber of commerce chapters, state and national networking groups that have active social media feeds and regularly updated websites. Where you list your name and brand are important and you should do some research before joining a new group. However, do not be afraid of making new friends and learning more about people. Defining your ideal client and niche is important however, do not let that description stop you from engaging in possibilities. Be open to what others have to say. Sometimes the best thing you can do is listen and learn. From there you can judge how to proceed and involve yourself. Contrary to popular belief marketing and networking is not about making a "sale" it is about building a relationship. People do not like cold calls for a reason. There is nothing personal to it. Rehearsed dialog that most people hang-up on or think is computer generated. It is also said that making a sale can take connecting with a person 3-6 times before enough trust is established to broker a deal. International companies bank on their brand recognition and collaborating with giants can be helpful! Use automation, like mailchimps new free service, to foster continued connection and make sure lists are personal and stagnated so your engagement is valuable to your reader. I have been involved in multiple marketing companies. I am proud to say that as a coach I am a member of an international coaching federation that offers coaching certification and a community of international leaders who work together to be Healthy, Wealthy and Wise. In some of my automated emails and posts I will promote speaking at the upcoming conference. An example of personalizing my promotions of this event will be to have separate posts targeting my local market and the local market around the event. No matter who you are connecting with, targeting your content and speaking with purpose will have the most beneficial effect. As a member of local women's groups, the community college boards and other networks that bring together people who are looking to change their story or are making a transition into greatness I continually expand my circle. I have found that my own personal development has opened my universe to strong, determined, intelligent people that have knowledge to share and opportunities to gain, focusing their stories and including them in my circle has benefited all of us. How can I help You gain more from your connections?
